Rust-Colored Moon Dazzles Western Washington in Near-Total Eclipse

The full Moon was nearly eclipsed by Earth’s shadow over western Washington Thursday night, with Seattle’s moonrise at 7:51 p.m., a peak around 9:15 p.m. when about 96% of the Moon was shaded and bathed in rust–orange hues, ending around midnight and visible to the naked eye.
