Colugo: The 'flying' mammal that's neither a lemur nor capable of flight

Colugos, often called 'flying lemurs,' are gliding mammals native to Southeast Asian rainforests. They have a skin membrane called a patagium that allows them to glide over 300 feet between trees, resembling a living kite, but they do not actually fly. They are the closest living relatives of primates and are entirely arboreal, spending their lives in the treetops.
