"19 Breathtaking Night Sky Images Compete for 2023 Astronomy Photo of the Year"

The Royal Observatory of Greenwich has released the shortlist of 19 photographs in the running for the 2023 Astronomy Photo of the Year. The competition, now in its 15th year, features categories such as Skyscapes, Aurorae, Galaxies, and more. The overall winner, as well as winners in each category, will be announced during an award ceremony on September 14. The photographs showcase stunning images of celestial phenomena, including solar flares, comets, nebulae, and the Milky Way, captured by photographers from around the world.
