Uniform Distribution of Enigmatic Dark Energy in the Universe

Dark energy, the mysterious force driving the accelerating expansion of the universe, is spread evenly through space and time, according to new results from the eROSITA X-ray instrument. The study team analyzed observations of galaxy clusters, which are useful for understanding dark energy because it should suppress the formation of enormous cosmic structures. The team found that dark energy accounts for around 76% of the total energy density of the universe and that this energy density is uniform in space and constant in time. However, the nature of dark energy remains a mystery that physicists are eager to solve.
