Firefly Aerospace, a space transportation company, broke the record for rocket launch speed by prepping a rocket's payload in 57 hours and launching it in just 27 hours. The previous record was 21 days. The company completed the launch as part of a mission for the U.S. Space Force, aiming to achieve rapid space access for national security and defense purposes. Firefly plans to further increase launch speed in the future, with the goal of replacing and repairing satellites more quickly and strengthening military operations.
