Massive Solar Hole to Blast Earth with Solar Winds

A giant coronal hole, about 30 times the size of Earth, has been spotted on the sun, which is blasting rapid solar winds into space that will reach Earth by the end of this week. Coronal holes are cooler in temperature, so they don't glow as bright and therefore look black against the rest of the sun. These holes are part of the sun's normal activity, but their origins are unclear. The main effect of the solar winds reaching Earth will be more vibrant aurora borealis, aka northern lights.
