Spot the Tiny Sliver of the Moon Tonight.

On April 20, North Americans will have a chance to spot an exceedingly young crescent moon, which will be visible very low in the west-northwest sky shortly after sunset. The moon will be just under 20 hours old and only 0.7% illuminated by sunlight. Observers will need a clear, flat horizon looking toward the west-northwest and binoculars to pick out the extremely thin sliver of moon. This will be a challenging and exhilarating observation.
