"Japan's SLIM Robot Successfully Lands on the Moon"

Japan's space agency, JAXA, is set to attempt a lunar landing with its Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) spacecraft near the Shioli crater on the lunar near side, aiming to become the fifth country to achieve a successful moon landing. SLIM, nicknamed "moon sniper," will demonstrate a navigation system for precise landings and is accompanied by two small rovers. The landing attempt will be livestreamed with English translation, and if successful, could pave the way for future missions to land on more rugged terrain for better scientific exploration.
