NASA's Laser Retroreflector Array (LRA), a payload on Chandrayaan-3 lander Vikram, will begin its work once other instruments on board go to sleep. The LRA, built by NASA, uses reflected laser light to determine the location of the lander and the distance to that point on the lunar surface. It will not operate until the Chandrayaan-3 mission is complete to prevent interference with the lander's optical equipment.
