A Canadian fisherman, Rick Austin, had an unexpected encounter with a Great White Shark while fishing for bass. Austin initially mistook the shark for a striped bass but quickly realized his mistake as the massive creature circled his boat. Despite his efforts, Austin was unable to reel in the shark and eventually let it go. Biologists later confirmed that it was indeed a great white shark measuring between six to eight feet in length and weighing 200 to 250 pounds. Great white shark sightings are common in Nova Scotia, which is believed to be a breeding site for the species.
