Bruins Welcome JJ Peterka, Targetting an Elite Shot to Elevate Offense
TL;DR
Boston acquired forward JJ Peterka from the Utah Mammoth in a draft-night deal that sent the Bruins’ 2026 first-round pick (23rd overall) and Florida’s 2028 first-round selection to Utah. The 24-year-old, known for an elite shot and positional versatility (can play both wings and contribute on the power play and at 5-on-5), is expected to bolster Boston’s offense and could pair with David Pastrnak as part of a rising Bruins core alongside Lukas Reichel; his German national-team ties and Karl Sturm/McIlvane connections figure into the move as Boston looks to a fresh start and higher ceiling.
