Apple trims 200+ roles to accelerate its AI pivot

Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs—about 100 from the Vision Pro team and 100 from Siri/Intelligent Systems Experience—as it pivots to a new generative‑AI architecture and reshuffles to rebuild Siri. The moves come as Vision Pro underperformed, and AI‑related costs rise due to a memory shortage; Apple says it will create new roles as part of the transition and has meanwhile raised prices on Macs and iPads and introduced a leasing plan to attract customers.
