LockBit Ransomware Targets Mac Devices, Including Apple Silicon Macs.

The LockBit ransomware gang has created encryptors targeting Macs for the first time, likely becoming the first major ransomware operation to ever specifically target macOS. However, cybersecurity researchers believe that these encryptors are likely test builds and not ready for deployment in actual attacks against macOS devices. The encryptors were likely haphazardly thrown together in a test, and the macOS encryptor is far from complete as it is missing the required functionality to encrypt Macs properly.
