Massive Mermaid Inn Set to Reopen Near Original Upper West Side Spot

The Mermaid Inn, a popular seafood restaurant that closed last year due to uncertainty over the landlord's plans for the building, is set to reopen later this year at a new location on Columbus Avenue. The new restaurant will have an impressive 6,500 square feet and marks a boost for the limping Columbus Avenue and Upper West Side retail scenes. The owners are also opening a jumbo Mermaid Oyster Bar in Times Square, with the second half set to open in a few months.
