New nasal spray for erectile dysfunction rivals Viagra in speed.

Australian researchers have developed a nasal spray called SPONTAN to combat erectile dysfunction, which works in as little as five minutes and could be rolled out to American consumers within two years. The spray repurposes the PDE5 inhibitor Vardenafil, which is taken orally one to two hours before sexual activity. A clinical trial will soon begin in Australia to compare the results of SPONTAN against the results of a different PDE5 inhibitor that will be taken orally. LTR Pharma has “very high confidence” that the results will be a success and wants the product to hit the US market in 2025.
