Chandrayaan-3 Mission Reveals Stunning 3D Images of Moon's Surface

NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter captured an aerial photo of India's Chandrayaan-3 moon lander, showing its dark rectangular shadow surrounded by a bright halo caused by the rocket plume interacting with the lunar soil. Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander successfully touched down near the lunar south pole, along with the Pragyan rover, and both have completed their primary missions. The lander and rover are now in sleep mode, with hopes of reawakening once their solar power is depleted. The moon's polar regions, including the south pole, are of great interest for future missions due to the potential presence of water ice, which could support human outposts and fuel depots for further exploration.
