TL;DR

The macOS 27 Golden Gate developer beta trims back Liquid Glass by adding a transparency slider, starting in the middle to soften UI elements without going fully opaque and reducing distractions. Edge-to-edge sidebars with colorful icons and larger window radii improve readability, though users can still opt for stronger transparency reductions in Accessibility. Siri AI remains on a waitlist for now, while performance remains uncertain in this early beta on the MacBook Neo; nitpicks include a less legible battery icon and missing tiling features. Overall, a polished UI refresh that backpedals on Liquid Glass with several welcome refinements and more features to come.
