Shelly Unveils a $50 Security Camera That Works Without a Subscription

Shelly announced a budget $49.99 security camera that can livestream to phones and store footage locally on a microSD card, with 1080p video and a wide 110° horizontal/70° vertical field of view, powered via USB-C (no battery). Without a subscription it supports local recording and smart-home automations; a paid plan adds cloud recording and advanced object detection (people, pets, vehicles). It will be available soon in black or white from Shelly and resellers, aiming to compete with Wyze on price while requiring wired power.
