"Upcoming Annular Solar Eclipse to Close Navajo Tribal Parks in North America"

An annular total solar eclipse, also known as a "ring of fire," will be visible from the northwestern U.S. to Brazil on October 14, 2023. This celestial event occurs when the Moon is at its farthest from Earth, resulting in the Moon appearing smaller than the Sun and creating a bright ring around the Sun's circumference. While the best views will be in the path of annularity, a partial solar eclipse may still be visible in other areas, weather permitting. NASA will provide a virtual experience on YouTube for those unable to witness the eclipse in person.
