UAW Strikes Spread to Multiple Automakers, Including GM and Stellantis

The United Auto Workers (UAW) union has expanded its strike against General Motors (GM) after reaching a tentative contract agreement with Stellantis, the maker of Jeep. The strike now includes GM's largest plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, adding to the 18,000 workers already striking at GM factories in Texas, Michigan, Missouri, and Tennessee. The UAW aims to wrap up negotiations with all three automakers to prevent Ford and Stellantis workers from rejecting their tentative agreements. The Stellantis deal, similar to the one with Ford, includes wage increases and job-saving measures. GM expressed disappointment with the additional strike and stated its desire for a quick resolution.
