United Airlines pilots secure significant pay raises in new labor agreement

United Airlines pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, have reached a preliminary labor deal with the airline, which includes up to a 40% raise. The agreement, valued at around $10 billion, addresses various aspects such as compensation, job security, retirement, and benefits. This deal comes after more than four years of negotiations and follows similar demands from other pilot union groups in the post-pandemic travel boom. The agreement will need to be ratified by the 16,000 member pilots once the final language is completed.
