Escalating Tensions: Israeli Strikes and Hezbollah's Response at Lebanon-Israel Border

Hezbollah launched simultaneous attacks on Israeli positions at the Lebanese border, prompting some of the fiercest Israeli strikes yet during weeks of cross-border clashes. In response, the Israeli army conducted airstrikes, artillery, and tank shelling on Hezbollah targets. Hezbollah fired a powerful missile, previously unused in the fighting, hitting an Israeli position across the border. The clashes, the worst since the 2006 war, have mostly been contained to the border area. Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned that the escalation on the Lebanese front would depend on events in Gaza and Israeli actions towards Lebanon. Nearly 60 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the violence.
