TL;DR
Stephen Colbert's 'The Late Show' announced its end in 2026, prompting surprise appearances from celebrities like Adam Sandler, Anderson Cooper, Jon Stewart, and Jimmy Fallon to support Colbert and cheer up the audience. The show’s cancellation is attributed to CBS's financial decisions amid declining linear TV viewership, with Colbert addressing the news humorously and defending his work against political attacks, including those from Donald Trump.
