Biden Urges Ukraine to Ease NATO Ambitions, GOP Sets Early Iowa Caucus Date, and More GOP Candidates Join Hinson's BBQ Bash

President Joe Biden stated in an interview with CNN's Fareed Zakaria that he does not believe Ukraine is ready for NATO membership at this time due to Russia's strategic goal of dividing NATO and the lack of unanimity within the alliance. Instead, Biden proposed providing Ukraine with security assistance similar to the support provided to Israel while laying out a path for Ukraine to qualify for NATO membership. Negotiations are underway among the US, UK, France, and Germany to create an "umbrella" for ongoing military aid to Ukraine. Biden also discussed his conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping, his decision to send cluster munitions to Ukraine, and his efforts to secure Sweden's accession to NATO.
