"Canada, US Investigate Possible India Link to Hardeep Singh Nijjar Killing"
Canada and the United States have been collaborating closely on intelligence suggesting potential Indian involvement in the murder of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia earlier this year. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for India to take the matter seriously and assist in the investigation, while India dismissed the allegations as absurd and expelled a Canadian diplomat in retaliation. The dispute has strained diplomatic ties and impacted trade talks between the two countries. The United States has expressed support for Canada's investigation and urged India to cooperate. Some are calling on Trudeau to provide evidence of the allegations. Nijjar had advocated for a Sikh homeland in India's Punjab state, which borders Pakistan.
