Iran's Resistance Grows Stronger: Biden Admin Imposes New Sanctions

The Biden administration has imposed new sanctions on more than two dozen Iranian individuals and entities in response to the violent suppression of protests following the death of Mahsa Amini, who died in the custody of Iran's morality police. The sanctions target key members of Iran's security forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and regime-controlled media outlets. The US State Department is also imposing visa restrictions on 13 Iranian officials involved in the detention or killing of peaceful protestors. The sanctions were imposed in coordination with the UK, Canada, and Australia. President Biden expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and their fight for democracy and human rights. The sanctions come as the US is nearing a deal with Iran to secure the release of wrongfully detained Americans.
