SAG-AFTRA Members Vote to Authorize Video Game Strike

SAG-AFTRA members have voted overwhelmingly in favor of authorizing a strike against 10 major video game companies, citing issues such as compensation, the use of AI, and safety. While the vote does not guarantee a work stoppage, it allows union negotiators to call for a strike if necessary. Negotiations for a new contract covering voice, motion capture, and other performances in video games have been ongoing since October 2022. The companies facing a potential strike include Activision, Disney, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, and WB Games.
