Impending Solar Storm Threatens Earth as Coronal Hole Expands

A solar storm is set to hit Earth in the next few hours after a coronal hole opened up in the Sun, sending plasma towards our planet. The NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Centre has issued a geomagnetic storm watch, warning of minor G1 level storms that could make the aurora borealis brighter and more visible further south.
