Rare Black Moon to Rise This Weekend: What You Need to Know
TL;DR
A rare 'black moon' will occur during a new moon phase this weekend, but it will be invisible to the naked eye because the illuminated side of the moon faces away from Earth. This phenomenon happens when there are four new moons in a season, with the third being called a 'black moon.' The next black moon will be in August 2027.
