Russia's Luna-25 Moon Craft Begins Historic Data Processing

Russia's Luna-25 mission, the country's first lunar landing since 1976, has switched on its scientific instruments and begun processing its first data as it races against India's Chandrayaan-3 to be the first to find water ice on the moon's south pole. The spacecraft, roughly the size of a small car, was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome and is expected to operate for a year on the moon.
