Impending Severe Storms Threaten Southern States

A strong storm system is expected to move through Louisiana on Monday night, bringing a risk of damaging winds, heavy rain, lightning, small hail, and isolated tornadoes. The entire area, including New Orleans, is under a Level 2 out of 5 (slight risk) for severe weather, with a Level 3 (enhanced risk) outlined just across the border in Mississippi and western Louisiana. The greatest threat will be from winds over 58 mph, with a 15% chance of occurrence within 25 miles. There is also a 5% chance of a tornado within 25 miles.
