Severe storms and floods threaten multiple states as winter storm approaches

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of Central Florida as severe storms are possible. An approaching cold front is expected to bring rain and storms in the evening, with a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms. The storm system responsible for deadly tornadoes in Tennessee will weaken as it reaches Florida. The worst of the weather is expected from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., with impacts including strong winds, heavy rain, and a low chance of a brief tornado. By Monday morning, the rain will end, but temperatures will drop into the lower 60s.
