Winter Storm Threatens Post-Thanksgiving Travel with Snow and Disruptions

A winter storm is expected to hit Kansas tonight and throughout Saturday, bringing areas of snow to western Kansas and central Kansas by daybreak. Snow will continue throughout the day over central and eastern Kansas, with rain possibly mixing in for areas southeast of the Kansas Turnpike. Accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected across much of south central, central, and parts of western Kansas, while areas southeast of the Turnpike will see less than 4 inches due to rain. Travel impacts are anticipated throughout the state on Sunday, but dry and cold weather is expected on Sunday with sunshine.
