Israel Targets Syrian Chemical Sites Amid Assad's Fall
TL;DR
Israel has confirmed conducting air strikes on Syria, targeting suspected chemical weapons and missile sites to prevent them from reaching extremists. This follows the recent overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime by Syrian rebel forces, including Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, who have captured Damascus. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu described the regime's collapse as a historic event and expressed a desire for peaceful relations with new Syrian forces, while maintaining a defensive stance in the Golan Heights.
