Battle for Bakhmut: Ukraine and Russia Clash Over Control

Ukraine claims its troops are still holding parts of Bakhmut, despite a prolonged Russian assault, while a pro-Moscow force says it is making progress. The Ukrainian military is waiting for better weather before launching a long-promised counteroffensive and is urging allies to supply modern fighter jets. The attack on Bakhmut is being led by the private Wagner Group militia, whose leader Yevgeny Prigozhin said his men had advanced up to 230 metres in some directions on Sunday.
