Escalating Tensions: Israel's Recent Strikes and Rocket Attacks in the Middle East

Israel's rocket attack on southern Lebanon last week has raised fears of a potential escalation in the region. The attack came after 34 rockets were fired towards Israel from the region, in apparent response to the Israeli attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem. While Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Lebanese government have all denied responsibility for the rocket launches, Israel has blamed Hamas and attacked targets associated with the group. Although violence across the Israeli-Lebanese border has largely been conducted in a quid-pro-quo manner, the intensity of Thursday's attack on Israel was not something to ignore, according to experts.
