Hezbollah conducts simulated war with Israel in south Lebanon for reporters.

Hezbollah invited reporters to witness a simulated military exercise in southern Lebanon ahead of the annual celebration of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from south Lebanon. The exercise included masked fighters jumping through flaming hoops, firing from the backs of motorcycles, and blowing up Israeli flags. The exercise was meant to confirm Hezbollah's readiness to confront any aggression by Israel. The recent heightened tensions come months after Lebanon and Israel signed a landmark US-brokered maritime border agreement. The conflict between Israel and Hezbollah has been largely frozen since the two sides fought a brutal and inconclusive one-month war in 2006.
