Israeli soldiers accused of inaction during settler attack on Palestinian town

An investigation by CNN found that Israeli forces failed to stop violent settler attacks on Palestinian towns in the West Bank in February, despite being aware of the threat posed by the settlers. The violence, which left at least one Palestinian man dead and hundreds injured, was described by Israel's military commander for the West Bank as a "pogrom." Videos showed that Israeli forces did not protect residents as settlers set fire to Palestinian homes and businesses and blocked emergency services from responding. Settler attacks have continued largely without recourse, with only several Israelis arrested and released without charges.
