Russia Suffers Heavy Losses in Ongoing Conflict with Ukraine

Ukraine's military claims to have destroyed or captured 27 Russian artillery systems, 12 armoured personnel vehicles, and six tanks on Friday, as well as killing 590 Russian personnel. The country's general staff released the figures on social media as part of a daily update. Ukrainian forces have made gains around the embattled Donbas city of Bakhmut, which Moscow has spent the past few months trying to seize. The UK has provided Ukraine with storm shadow cruise missiles, which can hit targets up to 155 miles away, giving the Ukrainians the "best chance to defend themselves against Russia's continued brutality."
