Ukraine is facing strong resistance from Russian forces as it continues its counteroffensive to retake Russia-occupied territory. Ukrainian troops have been gaining ground, but fighting is taking place for every meter, with Russians using assault and army aviation, intense artillery fire, minefields, and counterattacks. Battles are ongoing in several districts across south and east Ukraine.
