Ukraine Accuses Russia of Minimal Troop Involvement in Avdiivka Conflict

Ukrainian officials report that Russia has reduced the number of troops and equipment being sent into the battle for Avdiivka, a town seen as a gateway to the capital city of Donetsk region. However, there are still ground assaults and air strikes, with Russian forces violating the rules of war by targeting medical teams and evacuation vehicles. The fighting is concentrated in an industrial district, and Ukrainian forces are holding their positions. There has also been an increase in Russian attacks on nearby Maryinka. In addition, Russian forces have made missile strikes on port infrastructure in Odesa, and are stopping Ukrainian attempts to carry out amphibious landings in the Kherson region.
