Ukrainian forces are managing to keep Russian units at bay outside the eastern city of Bakhmut, allowing for the delivery of ammunition, food, equipment, and medicines to defenders. The city has been a priority for Russia in its strategy to take control of Ukraine's eastern Donbas industrial region. Ukrainian troops claim to have killed 193 Russians and injured 199 others during fighting on Friday, while also shooting down two Russian drones and destroying five enemy ammunition depots.
