Iran's foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, stated that relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia are "on the right track" after a successful meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in Riyadh. The visit comes as part of efforts to mend ties and boost cooperation between the two regional heavyweights following a China-brokered deal in March to restore relations. Both countries have reopened their embassies and expressed a desire for further dialogue and engagement. However, deep-rooted issues and conflicting interests in conflicts such as Yemen and Syria still pose challenges to a full reconciliation.
