Global Youth Taking Legal Action Against Governments for Climate Change Inaction

Six young people, including an 11-year-old, have filed legal claims against 32 governments, including Britain, France, and Germany, at the European Court of Human Rights, accusing politicians of ruining their childhoods due to climate change. The case, the first of its kind, will be heard on Wednesday. The claimants argue that their rights to life, privacy, family life, and freedom from discrimination are being violated. Three of them have respiratory conditions, and all claim to have suffered from climate change-related impacts.
