Researchers found that cats are indiscriminate predators, eating various animals at different life stages or scavenging. The study revealed that cats have consumed hundreds of species of birds, reptiles, mammals, amphibians, and insects. Cats have been linked to around 26% of extinctions of bird, mammal, and reptile species, particularly on islands. The researchers emphasize the need for awareness and action to address the impact of cats on wildlife conservation.
