Escalating Tensions: Israel's Increasing Palestinian Prisoner Count Raises Wider War Concerns

Israel has arrested over 4,000 Palestinians, doubling the number of prisoners to more than 10,000, since the start of its bombardment of Gaza. The arrests include 4,000 laborers from Gaza who were working in Israel and 1,070 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Palestinian officials and rights groups have reported severe mistreatment and dire conditions for the detainees, including starvation, denial of medical care, physical attacks, and degrading treatment.
