"UN Raises Alarm Over Escalating Violence in Sudan, Labeling it 'Pure Evil'"

The UN has warned that violence against civilians in Sudan is reaching a level of "pure evil" as fighting escalates between the army and paramilitaries. Reports of sexual violence, enforced disappearances, arbitrary detentions, and grave human rights violations have emerged, with concerns of a repeat of the genocide in the early 2000s. More than 800 people have been killed in West Darfur, and a new influx of refugees into Chad is expected. The conflict has displaced over 4.8 million people within Sudan and forced 1.2 million to flee to neighboring countries.
