Israel's Obstruction of Ambulances in Gaza Leads to Health System Collapse

The World Health Organization (WHO) has accused Israeli forces of obstructing an aid and ambulance convoy, delaying critically wounded patients from receiving medical care and resulting in at least one death. The WHO detailed how the convoy was inspected and crew members were forced to leave the vehicles at an Israeli checkpoint. Two members of the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) were detained, with one reportedly harassed, beaten, stripped, and searched. The convoy was later hit by bullets, causing chaos at the hospital. On the return journey, the convoy was stopped again, further delaying care for critically wounded Palestinians. The WHO condemned the obstruction of ambulances and attacks on humanitarian and health workers, calling them "unconscionable" and a violation of international law.
