Putin's War in Crimea Sparks Crisis in Russia

The war between Russia and Ukraine is taking a toll on Russian soldiers, many of whom suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) upon returning home. The Russian health ministry claims that up to 11% of soldiers have PTSD, but independent psychologists believe that every soldier returning from the front has some form of PTSD. The lack of mental health support for these soldiers has led to cases of violence and crime being brought from the battlefield to civilian life. Ex-convicts, who are treated as cannon fodder by Russian generals or Wagner commanders, are particularly vulnerable. The issue is expected to worsen as more traumatized soldiers return from the front.
