Russian Forces Intercept Ukrainian Drones en Route to Moscow Amid Kyiv Attack

Russian authorities claim that Ukraine attempted to attack Moscow with dozens of drones, following Russia's intense drone strike on Kyiv. Russian air defenses brought down at least 24 drones over the Moscow region and four other provinces, causing damage to buildings but no reported casualties. Moscow's airports briefly shut down during the attack. Ukrainian officials have not acknowledged or commented on the strikes. The previous day, Russia targeted Kyiv with over 60 Iranian-made drones, injuring at least five civilians. Ukrainian air defenses shot down eight of nine drones fired by Russian forces. Parts of Russian-occupied eastern Ukraine were left without power after a Ukrainian strike on a thermal power plant. Russian troops continue their attempts to advance near Avdiivka, a Ukrainian stronghold.
